The Irony of a Green Tea Frappuccino

Posted by Green Tea Weight Loss Blog

Whipped cream, then sugar. You get the picture. Fattening. Calories. Delectable. And a buffer suddenly comes into the scene that goes by the name of green tea. With a substance that gives its word against weight gain topped with heavy cream and saccharine flavor - will this drink survive the weight loss battlegrounds?

The empire with a trademarked green logo that started it all - Starbucks. From the simple brewed to espressos to ice-blended to the frappuccinos. Millions of coffee lovers across the globe wake up to the smell of coffee brew. They deal with a heavy workload with coffee mugs on their workstations. There's a pantry that offers bottomless drinks and endless chitchats over coffee - the universal drink that has transcended beyond brown and came to be green - but without the bean, as in the case of a green tea frappuccino.

With others following suit, a lot of corner cafes now showcase a host of signature concoctions that do not contain coffee. Green tea finds its spot along with drinks made out of berries, tropical fruits and the like. And it has already gained quite an audience.

Frappuccinos have become just as phenomenal as this coffee empire's name. And enthusiasts have perhaps tried every variant written on the menu. Green tea fares rather well and is selected by customers who prefer to do away with the caffeine. Apart from that, well informed customers consider this drink because of what they have probably read or heard about its medicinal properties and positive effects to the body.

There is enough confusion to make one think if the green tea content is enough to compensate for the other substances that paved the way for Biggest Losers. Choosing to go "light" may add up to the anticipation that regular Starbucks visits would result into jeans becoming loose. However, this is not the case. A green tea frappuccino is a fancy sweet treat that does not contain the sufficient amount of polyphenols that the pure variant has. So going to the nearest Starbucks branch is not part of a weight loss regimen, but rather part of that moment wherein you can spend time with a few friends, engage in a light conversation and enjoy some chill time.

Thinking about the benefits of green tea alone would splash images of better physiques and increased body resistance. But these certainly wouldn't outweigh the whipped cream and sugar if you just can't get enough of it and order it by the end of every single workday.
