There are a lot of factors to
consider when choosing the best tea on weight loss. I personally experienced
choosing my weight loss tea and I would like to share with you what I did to
find the best tea for me. I only took into consideration those tea varieties
which are very popular for weight loss.
Green Tea
This variety of tea has had a lot of
good reviews and some of the benefits I was able to gather about green tea are
the following:
- It has anti-ageing properties. It has antioxidants
which work on the free radicals that damage our cells until they die and
which eventually begins the aging process. Thus green tea works on these
free radicals and prevents the death of our cells thus retarding aging.
- It reduces the risk of developing heart disease. Its
antioxidants prevents damage to the heart muscle cells
- It lowers and controls blood pressure because it
dilutes the blood and prevents it from thickening or clotting.
- Its powerful anti-oxidants hunt for and destroy cancer
cells.
- The catechins in green tea speed up metabolism and its
fat burning capabilities promote weight loss.
Oolong Tea
This variety of tea is said to burn
more fats than green tea can and has been popularized as the weight loss tea.
Oolong, also known as Wulong, is said to contain a powerful quantity of
polyphenols which:
- helps shed stubborn pounds by increasing the metabolism
- blocks the fattening effects of carbohydrates
- stops tooth decay and promote strong and healthy teeth
- enhances mental functions
- prevents allergies
- rejuvenates the skin
- strengthens the immune system
Oolong tea is known to have the
combined properties of both green tea and black tea. Its capability to block
fat absorption and carbohydrates in the blood is most helpful in weight loss.
Chrysanthemum Herbal Tea
From the chrysanthemum flowers, Ju
Hua, this herbal tea is said to be good for relieving a lot of health problems.
The chrysanthemum herbal tea is known for its medicinal uses such as:
- cure for acne
- awakens the senses and keeps the brain alert
- treats varicose veins and other circulatory disorders
- aids in digestion and weight loss
- relieves headaches, migraines and dizziness
- strengthens the lungs
- cures blood pressure and some heart diseases
- great for the treatment of fever, flu and sore throat
- improves the vision and reduces dryness and itchiness
in the eyes
Pu-erh Tea
Pu-erh tea although not so popular
also contains some unique benefits and has now been researched and studied to:
- help decrease blood cholesterol level
- Improve fat metabolism thus aiding in weight loss
- Stimulate weight loss
- Balance the body's system
- Less caffeine than coffee
There are a lot of tea varieties
that we can discuss here but these four have caught my attention and has made
it harder for me to decide and choose the best tea for weight loss. What did I
do? Instead of choosing the best of the four I started drinking them by mixing
some of the tea leaves in one cup and found that combining them has done
wonders to the taste of the tea and I feel has improved and increased my weight
more.
